We love all that cheerleaders stand for, and think this is a great way to say thank you. Not only do they bring joy to their teammates and everyone at an event, but their determination and steadfast tenacity is something that all children can admire. Through hard work, a good attitude, and dedication to the sport, cheerleaders are making a difference worldwide.
National Cheerleading week was established in 2005 by Linda Lundy who hoped to bring awareness and acknowledgement to the hard work and dedication of today’s most talented athletes. She herself has been involved in cheer, gymnastic, dance, and more for more than half of her life, and has been a cheerleading coach, choreographer, and judge, but credits her success to two teachers she had in high school who encouraged her to become a sports writer for the school paper and a cheerleader. This is how her passion began, and ultimately how cheerleading week was founded.
