At New Jersey’s International Sports, Skating and Fun Centre at Cherry Hill we enjoying offering our community a variety of healthy physical activities at our facility, ranging from roller skating to flag football. So it should be no surprise that in March we are throwing our support to National Nutrition Month!
Brief History
National Nutrition Month’s roots come from the ADA (American Dietetic Association) in 1973 when they launched week long campaign to get Americans to, “Invest in Themselves and Buy Nutrition.” Popularity of this week grew over the years so much, that it was eventually changed to encompass an entire month in 1980.
Healthy Living
In order to have a completely healthy lifestyle, maintaining a balanced diet must be taken into account at some point, so why not start now? When you eat a meal, try to have fruits and veggies take up half of your plate. The reasoning behind this is for portion control of foods that aren’t good for you (you’ll be fuller and won’t eat as much ‘bad’ food) and for the simple fact that most people skip many of the fruits and vegetables at the dinner table, even though they provide essential nutrients and vitamins.
Physical activity is also a huge factor to healthy living. This is where ISC Cherry Hill can help! The sports options and roller skating that we provide can help you become (or remain) physically fit! Exercise paired with healthy eating is an instant recipe for SUCCESS!
